Nine Must See Movies

By Cheri Emerson

For a long time we have used the video store as one of our main ways to access movies. The next generation it seems will be getting their movies from movie downloads, avoiding any trips to the store. Here are some examples of movies you can acquire through a movie download site.

Enemy Of The State: A fast paced intrigue that attorney Robert Clayton Dean is unwittingly thrown into the middle of. The government is after him, and they are tracking him with high tech surveillance techniques. He finally gets help from a man named Brill and together they devise a clever plan to untangle Robert from the mess.

Night of the Comet: Planet comes to an end, leaving only a few California valley gals behind! Clever satire, with brainy and sporadically chilling minutes, however plays all its cards too eventually. Cast includes Catherine Mary Stewart, Kelli Maroney, Robert Beltran, Geoffrey Lewis, Mary Woronov, Sharon Farrell, and Michael Bowen. (94 minutes, 1984)

China Girl: Atmospheric romantic thriller in reference to warring Chinese and Italian youth cliques in N.Y.C., with Panebianco and Chang as megastar crossed lovers. Controller Ferrara grants astronomical effort and some over-the-top brutality. Cast includes Richard Panebianco, Sari Chang, David Caruso, and Russell Wong. (88 minutes, 1987)

After Life: This is a beautifully informed story of caseworkers at a train station between the galaxies who help the lately departed pick a lone minute from their pasts to live inside for the remainder of forever. This is a calm, poetic assessment of life, mortality, and memory, filled with soft humor and blessedly free of some feel-excellent bromides. Cast includes Aarata, Erika Oda, Susuma Terajirna, Taketoshi Naito, Kyoko Kagawa, Kei Tani, Takashi Naito, and Yusuke lseya. (118 minutes, 1998)

Delta Farce: 3 stupid army reservists, informed they are being sent to Iraq, are as an alternative dropped into the Mexican desert, where Larry and his friends Everett and Bill evidently Moe and Curly were unavailable go into motion contrary to corrupt police that they blunder for Middle Eastern terrorists. Give this mind-numbingly dumb trip points for creativity: it's possibly the first and with any luck last lame-brained comedy to try milking snickers from replicated references to Shiites and Kurds! Cast includes Larry the Cable Man, Bill Engvall, DJ Qualls, Keith David, Danny Trejo, Marisol Nichols, and Glenn Morshower. (90 minutes, 2007)

The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come: Bland clan-type film of boy who battled for the North throughout Civil Battle and his return to rural life. This movie is based on the 1903 novel by John William Fox. Cast includes McLaglen, Jimmie Rodgers, Luana Patten, Frost Wills, George Kennedy, and Neil Hamilton. (108 minutes, 1961)

The Absent Minded Professor: The professor (Fred MacMurray) discovers an incredibly bouncy and resilient substance. He names the substance flubber. But no one really believes he has discovered anything of interest, except one man who sets out to steal the formula and keep it for himself. A fun filled Disney comedy. Fred MacMurray, Nancy Olson, Keenan Wynn, and Tommy Kirk star in this funny movie. (1961 Comedy)

Soft Fruit: 4 grown kids-3 siblings and a sibling who's just gotten out of prison-return home to be with their mom, who's dying of liver cancer. Friendly enough mix of comedy and tirade in reference to an oddball clan doesn't count up to much. Cast includes Christina Andreef, Jeanie Drynan, Linal Haft, Russell Dykstra, Genevieve Lemon, Sacha Horler, and Alicia Talbot. (101 minutes, 2000)

Black Mama White Mama: Stereotyped, vicious girl rehash of the Defiant Ones, as blonde Markov and black Grier flee shackled together from a Filipino detention center camp. Haig is hammy in dude costume. Cast includes Pam Grier, Margaret Markov, Sid Haig, and Lynn Borden. (87 minutes, 1972)

If your looking for downloads, type in "Music Download Services" to a search engine, see if you find something good. Different phrases get different results. If the last one did not work try something else. See if "Movie Download Program" gets a better result.
