Sharp Reviews Of A Wide Variety Of Silver Screen Movies

By Angela Allison

Take a look at some movie reviews we have prepared. To find a movie download site you need to do the right search. You can try to search a term like "Download Tv Shows", if you want some more, use "Download Movies" and "Best Movie Rental".

The Sellout: A small town newspaper editor (Pidgeon) finds himself in over his head while he tries to get the goods on corrupt sheriff Gomez. Cast includes Walter Pidgeon, John Hodiak, Audry Totter, Paula Raymond, Cameron Mitchell, Karl Malden, Everett Sloane, and Thomas Gomez. (83 minutes, 1952)

Belles on Their Toes: A widowed architect (Loy) will battle to aid (in addition to raise) her aging brood. 20th Century Fox back lot seen at its best in recollecting early 1900s America. Clifton Webb makes a concise appearance at the finale. Cast includes Myrna Loy, Jeanne Crain, Debra Paget, Jeffrey Hunter, Edward Arnold, Hoagy Carmichael, Barbara Bates, Robert Arthur, Verna Felton, and Martin Milner. (89 minutes, 1952)

Rambo: Much better than part II, this one continues to be firmly footed in the genre of mindless action films, as our brawny idol goes behind Russian battle lines in Afghanistan to save his buddy from a prison fortress. You will see lots of eruptions to keep the action going and some funny stuff thrown in too. Cast includes Sylvester Stallone, Richard Crenna, Marc de Jonge, Kurtwood Smith, Spiros Focas, and Sasson Gabai. (101 minutes, 1988)

Signs of Life: An old boat making business in Maine closes its doors, and the workers, young and old, who've spent their lives there, try to decide out what to do next. Cast includes Arthur Kennedy, Kevin J. O'Connor, Vincent Phillip D'Onofrio, Michael Lewis, Fellow Bridges, Kate Reid, Kathy Bates, Mary-Louise Parker, and Georgia Engei. (91 minutes, 1989)

Stage Door: A theatrical boarding home is the setting for this remarkable film, from an Edna Ferber and George S. Kaufman play. The dynamite cast contains Hepburn as an opulent gal trying to be successful on her own, Menjou as proposing creator, Leeds as allergic actress, and a few future stars such as Lucille Ball, Ann Miller, and Eve Arden. Cast includes Katharine Hepburn, Ginger Rogers, Adolphe Menjou, Andrea Leeds, Gai Patrick, Constance Collier, Lucille Ball, Eve Arden, Ann Miller, Ralph Forbes, Franklin Pangborn, and Jack Carson. (90 minutes, 1937)

The Egg and I: Colbert is admirable as a city gal who weds poultry farmer MacMurray and battles to make things work on his farm. Cast includes Claudette Colbert, Fred MacMurray, Marjorie Prime, Louise Allbritton, Percy Kilbride, Richard Long, Donald MacBride, and Samuel S. Hinds. (108 minutes, 1947)

After the Rehearsal: Fuller returned to film making after a long hiatus with this lucid, autobiographical account of a particular infantry battalion and its courageous sergeant during WW2. Difficult to imagine that one film can pile so much into its narrative, an very rich, moving, practical, and poetic film. Carradine depicts and plays Fuller's doppelganger, complete with cigar. Cast includes Erland Josephson, Ingrid Thulin, Lena Olin, Nadja PaJrnstjema-Weiss, and Bertil Guve. (112 minutes, 1984)

Jack Frost: A neglectful dad dies in an automobile mishap and comes to life one year later as a snowman in his child's front yard! Nice, likable acting and an absence of violence make this an alright family film. However, it on no account conquers its quintessential issue, an extremely weird premise. Cast includes Michael Keaton, Kelly Preston, Mark Addy, Joseph Cross, Henry Rollins, and Dweezil Zappa. (95 minutes, 1998)

Food of the Gods: This is a terrible adaptation of H. G. Wells' novel. An odd event has caused mammoth expansion in the size of wasps, chickens and rats. Cast includes Marjoe Gortner, Pamela Franklin, Ida Lupino, Jon Code, and Ralph Meeker. (88 minutes, 1976)

I hope you enjoyed the reviews. To find online download sites, try "Net Movie Downloads" or "Online Music Download Services" in the search engines. Another good term might be "Best Movie Download Sites".
