Discover The Valuable Emotional Lure Of Movie Enjoyment

By Forest York

Motion pictures are wonderful entertainment but they can also be very useful for our mental health. Films permit us to take some time to loosen up and get away from our day after day difficulties and concerns. We are able to let go of our everyday cares as we get caught up in the lives we are viewing on film.

Seize the Day - Williams is momentous as Tommy Wilhelm, turning 40 and a failure by any standard, he is broke, damaged and hopeless for love. Wiseman and Stiller offer fine support as his cold hearted dad and a con man he naively believes in. Lots of recognizable faces in tiny roles - Tony Roberts, Richard Shull, John Fiedler, Jo Van Fleet, William Hickey, Eileen Heckart, and numerous others. Cast includes Robin Williams, Joseph Wiseman, Jerry Stiller, and Glenne Headly. (93 minutes,'86)

Seaside Players - Cast includes John Leyton, Mike Same, Freddie and The Dreamers, Ron Moody, and Liz Fraser. Group of adolescents performing at seaside resort dispose for a talent competition which is to be the highlight of the summer season. (94 minutes,'65)

The Manchurian Candidate - A modern day version of the'62 movie. Decorated war hero Raymond Shaw is now in place to become the Vice President of the US. His Mother, Senator Eleanor Shaw is pulling all the political strings. A dilemma is developing for her plans. Major Bennett Marco, a member of Raymond's platoon is beginning to mistrust the events of the day Raymond saved the platoon. Marco is battling an uphill battle, but cannot defend against the niggling feeling that something is not right.

Thief of Baghdad - Reeves looks for the elusive blue rose so he could wed the Sultan's baby girl. This is nothing like the Sabu rendition, although this is a good piece of work. Cast includes Steve Reeves, Giorgia Moll, Arturo Dominici, and Edy Vessel. (90 minutes,'61)

Down to You - Prinze and Stiles ineffectively try to buddy us up by talking directly into the camcorder, expounding how their once idyllic college romance went bust (albeit not as bust as the film). In someway, this movie manages to find room for subplots in reference to a Television show and a friend who has a try as an adult-film entrepreneur with a sort of bohemian experienced porn actress. Cast includes Freddie Prinze, Jr., Julia Stiles, Shawn Hatosy, Selma Blair, Zak Orth, Ashton Kutcher, Rosario Dawson, Henry Winkler, and Lucie Amaz. (91 minutes, 2000)

Knocked Up - A drunken, one-night-stand encounter between young, eye-catching go-getter Allison,, and a disheveled slacker, Ben, changes the tracks their lives are on. It turns out he did not use the condom, and she's pregnant. Can these two in fact become a couple and raise a child together?

Benefit from a motion picture recognize that you are doing yourself a good turn. You can enjoy yourself in some peaceful downtime while permitting yourself a much-needed escape. Take some time away from your life and difficulties and engross yourself in someone else's tale while you are learning about the world. It is really no shock that films are almost everybody's most wanted source of entertainment.
