Above the Law - This is Steven Segal's breakout movie. He plays a Chicago Policeman who takes matters into his own hands. As the title implies, he is 'above the law'. He uses his large body and martial arts skills to inflict mayhem on the bad guys. Stars include Steven Segal, Pam Grier, and Sharon Stone. 1988 Action.

Sugar Town - Enjoyable variety of LA life characterizing a handful of characters whose lives merge - a musician aspirant who will do anything to get ahead, an uptight lone woman who allures the unsuitable men like a magnet, and a band made up of cleaned-up '80s rock megastars, to name a few. Made on a shoestring, although intelligent and well recognized; first-rate cast comprises a number of actual musicians. Cast includes Ally Sheedy, Rosanna Arquette, John Taylor, Jade Gordon, Michael Des Barres, Lucinda Jenney, and Martin Kemp. 92 minutes, 1999.

Uncle Buck - Cindy Russell has to visit her sick father. Her single choice for someone to take care of her youngsters is wonderful old Uncle Buck. Careless Buck has to one way or another pull himself together and take care of the kids for a couple of days.

Internal Affairs - Young cop Raymond Avila works in the Internal Affairs Department of the LAPD. He and his partner observe something fishy with Dennis Peck. His economic situation is much stronger than expected on a policeman's wage. When Peck is attentive of the investigation, he turns his attention away from his fraudulent dealings to center on Avila.

Belles on Their Toes - Here, Myrna Loy plays a widowed architect who will fight to raise her aging brood. 20th Century Fox back lot seen at its best in recollecting early 1900s America. Clifton Webb makes a succinct appearance at the end. Cast includes Myrna Loy, Jeanne Crain, Debra Paget, Jeffrey Hunter, Edward Arnold, Hoagy Carmichael, Barbara Bates, Robert Arthur, Verna Felton, and Martin Milner. 89 minutes, 1952.

House on Haunted Hill - Zillionaire Price offers group of folks $100,000 each if they will survive a night in a spooky old mansion with a haunted history. Cast includes Vincent Price, Carol Ohmart, Richard Long, Alan Marshal, Elisha Cook, Carolyn Craig, and Leona Anderson. 75 minutes, 1958.

Cop Land - Freddy Hanlin is the Sheriff of Garrison New Jersey, a tiny town not too far from New York City. Freddy always wished to be a New York City cop, but he is slightly deaf, so he never could. When internal investigator Mo Tilden shows up in town to look into likely police corruption, Freddie takes up the cause and begins to help out. Freddie is about to learn that the men he has always idolized might be doing some very terrible things.
