Covario Receives First Patent for Web-Based Software Solution for SEO

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - January 27, 2011) - Covario, Inc., one of the nation's largest independent providers of Software-as-a-Solution (SaaS) and cloud-based software solutions for global search marketers, today announced that it has secured its first patent (No. 7877392) from the U.S. Patent and Trademark office for a "Centralized Web-based Software Solution for Search Engine Optimization."
One embodiment of the patent relates to certain features of the Covario SEO Audit Score™, a proprietary system that uses a weighted algorithmic formula encompassing three key indicators to assess a brand or a product's likelihood of ranking high on any search engine within the natural search results pages. The indicators include quality link analysis, content relevance and technical quality. In its latest iteration (version 3.0), Covario has adjusted the weighting scale to put the greatest emphasis on link quality.

In an abstract accompanying the patent, the process was described as a system for modifying a parameter of a website in order to optimize an organic listing of the site on one or more search engines. This includes embodiments that encompass methods and systems for generating scored representations based upon different portions of data associated with a website and then combining the representations to achieve an overall result.
