Inside Look At Talent Agencies " Emerald City Model And Talent

By John Harb

Emerald City Model and Talent in Edmonds, Washington commented, a talent agent finds positions for actors, authors, film directors, models, musicians and producers. Models will be interested in modeling where as actors will be interested in working on stage, in films, television and commercials.

Do people ever tell you that you look like an actor? If not do you wish that they would? Do you think you've got some talent, or at least a great look? Do you have self-esteem coming out every imaginable orifice? If endless rejection, years of waiting tables, and the chance at absurdly high pay for work that requires absolutely no education sounds good to you, then by golly it's time you got an agent.

Why do you need an agent? Agents are the go between to the people who hire you for acting or modeling through casting directors and producers. Because the agent helps you find work they will take a percentage of your pay.

Emerald City Model and Talent continues to say, There are different types of agents for different types of talent. The main types are theatrical (TV and film), modeling and commercial (for commercials only). There are also dance, print (photos only), voice-over (voice only for TV, film, radio), and legitimate (theater) agents. Your agent may represent you for one or more of these categories.

The fax service called the breakdowns, casting directors and producers are a few of the ways an agent can get information about jobs available. Only agents and manager can use the breakdowns.

For one role, hundreds or thousands of resumes and head shots can come into a casting director. Because so many actors or models want a job the agent must eliminate those who are not eligible for the job.

Having an 8 x 10 photos and resume is very important to your career as a model and actor. Another good idea is to make a demo reel of your work but if you are new do not worry about this. The photo and resume have certain professional guidelines.

The first step in getting great photos. People need to know what they're getting when they call you in to audition. So, if you are not a model-type, please do not get glamorous head shots. But if you are gorgeous, let the viewer know.
