Hannibal Rising: Hannibal as a youngster at the end of WW2 he had to watch when Nazi collaborators abused his younger sis! As a youthful adult (Dlliel), empowered by his Japanese mothers sibling, he hunts down the killers and imposes cruel reprisal. Handsome however ponderous, dull and self-vital, albeit on no account as gory as may be anticipated. Cast includes Gaspard Ulliel, Rhys Ifans, Gong Li, Helena Lia Tachovska, Dominic West, Aaron Thomas, Kevin McKidd, and Richard Brake. (121 minutes, 2007)

Shack Out on 101: Lee Marvin is a cook named Slob at a seaside greasy spoon in this cold war classic.The waitress (Terry Moore) seems to be spending most of her time fending off the lecherous advances of almost all her co-stars, but in fact she is trying to stop nuclear sectets from leaving the country. This is positively a one of a kind film, with most of the action taking place on a lone shabby set. Cast includes Terry Moore, Frank Lovejoy, Lee Marvin, Keenan Wynn, and Whit Bissell. (90 minutes, 1955)

The Big Town: A rural city crapshooter with a "brilliant arm" comes to Chicago in the 1950s to become a big gambler, however still has a lot to learn. With that cast (and Lane as a stripper) it's simple to watch although just as simple to forget. Cast includes Matt Dillon, Diane Lane, Tommy Lee Jones, Tom Skerritt, Lee Grant, Bruce Dem, Suzy Amis, David Marshall Grant, Lolita David (Davidovich), Cherty Jones, Gary Farmer, and Sarab Polley. Days of Glory: Moving (and illuminating) fable of North African cadets who joined their French brothers in battle throughout WW2 even thougth they were on no account acknowledged as equals. The film is constructed on a time worn recipe of following raw initiates as they become stiffened battle Heros by concentrating on a handful of men and personalizing their tale. This film brings this forgotten chapter of history comes to lucid life. Cast includes Jamel Debbouze, Samy Naceri, Roschdy Zem, Sami Bouajila, Bernard Blancan, Mathieu Simonet, Benoit Giros, Melanie Laurent, and Antoine Chappey. (120 minutes, 2006)

Food of the Gods 2: This time, as a result of hormone experiments gone bad, tremendously big rats terrorize a college campus. Cast includes Paul Coufos, Lisa Schrage, Jackie Burroughs, Colin Fox, and Frank Moore. (91 minutes, 1989)

South Ernest Shackleton and the Endurance Expidition: Exceptional record of the fabled 1915 Ernest Shackleton journey to Antarctica and the stranded team's attempts to stay alive. The tale has been remunerated and emphasized as long as then, however nothing could evaluate to this original, simple account with startlingly transparent footage that looks as if it was shot this moming (88 minutes, 1919)

De-Lovely: Handsome however strange biopic of the incredible songwriter Cole Porter, whose love for his spouse didn't preclude him from chasing homosexual affairs. Kline is much more interesting than the film as the scene in which he instructs Barrowman how to harmonize "Night and Day" shows. The Face of Fu Manchu: The deaths in London continue, convincing Scotland Yards that the evil Fu Manchu is still alive in spite of people witnessing his execution. The film is set in an incredible 1920s environment, with an excellent global cast. Cast includes Christopher Lee, Nigel Green, James Robertson Law, Howard Marion-Crawford, Tsai Chin, and Walter Rilla. (96 minutes, 1965)
