Milan City Breaks And Recreation

Recreation and Milan city breaks are practically synonymous. Milan has grown to be quite a sophisticated city, and is Italy's commercial capital. For those who love to shop, Milan is a place that can boast many things in this category. Their own 'Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is one of the most famous shopping areas in the world. And while you're in Milan, why not take in an opera at their La Scala Theatre.

If history is what excites you, then you're sure to stay excited while you're in Milan. They have numerous churches with ancient architecture, and they can brag about having one of the largest churches in the world, known as the Gothic Duomo. They're steeped in history and a sure fire winner for the history buff.

When it comes to fashion, Milan holds it's head up high. The Porta Genova station in the Fiera District is the main location for all the fashion in Milan. The fashion squares are divided into four main parts. One is the Piazza San Babila, and one the Piazza Cordusio, and one the Piazza Cairoli, and the last is Piazza Duomo. You'll find Milan in the Lombardy Region. The Milan province is located within this Italian region. The stock exchange of Italy also resides in this region. Hanging inside some of it's churches is a history buff and an artist's dream. This would be some of the work of Leonardo da Vinci himself. The one we all seem to remember the most is his famous 'Last Supper', and it can be found here in Milan at the Church of Santa Maria dell Grazie.

There are at least three main subway lines that have given Milan a ranking of 'second' in size for Italy's railways. With Milan city breaks and recreation you may want to get away from the city and feel more relaxed in a more rural setting. This is no problem. You can check out the Lombardy mountains, where there are beautiful lakes, and plentous valleys, and are all within a meazley 40 minute ride by train.
