A Few Precise Motion Picture Summaries To See

It used to be that you had to go to the video store to get a movie. Now, with internet usage exploding, movie downloads are becoming very popular. Just about any movie every made can be attained through a movie download site now. Check out these samples.

The Nutty Professor: Jerry's craziest and most self-centered comedy casts him as chipmunk-faced college professor who does Jekyll-and-Hyde like changes, and changes into swaggering Buddy Love whom some have defined as a Dean Martin character. The movie is more fascinating than funny. Lewis buffs consideration of this as his masterpiece work. Cast includes Jerry Lewis, Stella Stevens, Del Moore, Kathleen Freeman, Med Flory, Howard Morris, Elvia Allman, and Henry Gibson.(107 minutes,'63)

Black Rain: New York detectives Nick Conklin and Nick Vincent capture a killer who is part of the Japanese Mafia. Upon escorting him back to Japan, he escapes. With the assistance of the Tokyo police they try and track this killer down. They find themselves being pulled deep into the world of the Japanese Mafia.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Cute variance on vampire legends, with high school valley girl Swanson turning out to be "the selected one" of her generation to kill wandering vampires. Sutherland is superlative as her mentor and guide, and Reubens the prior Pee-wee Herman is fun as one of the fanged bullies. Look for Ben Affleck as a basketball player. Cast includes Kristy Swanson, Donald Sutherland, Paul Reubens, Rutger Hauer, Luke Perry, and Gregson Wagner. (86 minutes,'92)

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: A kid's musical in regards to a flying automobile is one wacky journey, with entirely forgettable score and some of the shoddiest visual effects ever. This is loosely based on novel by Ian Fleming. Cast includes Dick VanDyke, Sally Ann Howes, Lionel Jeffiies, Gert Frobe, Anna Quayle, and Benny Hill. (142 minutes,'68)

Blind Date: Dr. Dullea tests a device that inspires visions on the blind Bottoms, inducing him to become addicted to seizing a psycho murderer who's on the loose. Powerful cast perks up a contrived thriller, filmed in Greece. Cast includes Joseph Bottoms, Kirstie Alley, James Daughton, Lana Clarkson, and Keir Dullea. (100 minutes,'84)

Die Hard: In position to commit the perfect crime, terrorists have commandeered a Los Angeles high rise, and are holding everyone hostage. There is $460 million in the corporate safe that the terrorists want. Everything is going according to play. Uninvited, so the terrorists don't know he is there New York cop John McClane is the lone hope to stop the terrorists.

Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band: Try to link melodies from The Beatles' classic album into some kind of tale line just doesn't work; patterns range from reasonable to humiliating. As to The Bee Gees performing ability, well let's just say that they are not the Beatles. Cast includes Peter Frampton, The Bee Gees, George Bums, Sandy Farina, and Steve Martin. (111 minutes,'78)

Inferno: American returns to N.Y. from school in Rome to examine the hideous death of his sibling, and finds "sinister moms" wreaking paranormal chaos on both sides of Atlantic. Surreal, spellbinding shocker by Italian terror maestro Argento doesn't make much sense, but it has a lot of style. Cast includes Leigh McCloskey, Irene Marvel, Sacha Pitoeff, Daria Nicolodi, Eleonora Giorgi, Veronica Lazar, and Alida Valli. (107 minutes,'84)

Agnes of God: A youthful nun evidently became pregnant, then killed the baby in the cloistered environment of a convent. The court assigned psychiatrist finds no simple answers. Upsetting, not unconditionally pleasing, although electrified by 3 brilliant performances, and beautifully photographed by Sven Nykvist. Cast includes Jane Fonda, Anne Bancroft, Meg Tilly, Anne Pitoniak, Winston Reckert, and Gratien Gelinas. (98 minutes,'85)
