Hoffa: A biography of legendary Teamster supervisor Jimmy Hoffa modified into a must see film by the galvanizing acting of Nicholson as Jimmy Hoffa. Cast includes Jack Nicholson, Danny DeVito, Armand Assante, J. T. Walsh, John C. Reilly, Blunt Whaley, Robert Prosky, Karen Youthful, and Cliff Gorman.(140 minutes, 1992)

Infinity: Sugary however choppy film based on the life of Richard Feynman, whose relation with Arline Arquette in pre-WW2. N.Y.C. takes a fateful turn when he is enlisted to work on the Manhattan Project. The scientist won the Nobel Prize in 1965. Cast includes Matthew Broderick, Patricia Arquette, Peter Riegert, Dori Brenner, and James LeGros. (117 minutes, 1996)

Cursed: The film starts out entertaining however eventually becomes ridiculous as the nubile young sufferers fight back to become human once more. The bite of the werewolf has left them stricken. Cast includes Christina Ricci, Portia de Rossi, Mya, Shannon Elizabeth, Solar, Daniel Edward Mora, Jesse Eisenberg, and Joshua Jackson. (97 minutes, 2005)

Basic: While things go awry throughout an armed forces work out, base captain Daly brings in Travolta, the best interrogator he ever had, to query the surviving members of the squad, whose tales don't add up. Actually a whodunit, this film keeps us guessing, as a good intrigue should. Cast includes John Travolta, Connie Nielsen, Samuel L. Cry the Beloved Country: Easy going back country pastor voyages to Johannesburg looking for his child when destiny links his road with that of a prosperous, bigoted white landowner. This heart rending tale journals the racial divisiveness at its roots in South Africa, without resorting to preaching. Cast includes Canada Lee, Charles Carson, Sidney Poitier, Geoffrey Eager, Reginald Ngeabo, and Joyce Carey. (111 minutes, 1951)

Diner: Complications of growing up are pleasantly harmonized by author-director Levinson in this look at a group of buddies who hang out in a Baltimore diner in the 1950s. Evidently made with care and attention to detail; a genuine sleeper. (97 minutes, 1961)

Hollow Man: Sebastian Caine is working on a top-secret assignment for the U.S. government. He is trying to unlock the keys to human invisibility. After succeeding on laboratory animals, he can't resist, and takes the serum himself. He becomes irreversibly invisible, and feels threatened by those trying to cure him.

Night Must Fade: Cerebral effort to match the original, this redo is too apparent and theatrical for any credibility. Cast includes Albert Finney, Susan Hampshire, Mona Washbourne, Sheila Hancock, Michael Medwin, Joe Gladwin, and Martin Wyldeck. (105 minutes, 1964)

Deep Impact: With a comet on a collision course for Earth. A decision is made to send a space ship out to intercept the comet, and "seed" it with nuclear bombs. The explosion splits the comet in two, with the smaller part still heading toward Earth. With a devastating impact looming, it is learned that 1 million Americans will be chosen by lottery to go underground into a network of caves built to survive the impact, and the following sequence of disasters.
