A Selection Of Brief Film Plot Lines To See

By Bernice Gonzales

Until recently, if you wanted to watch a movie, a trip to a video store like blockbuster was your only option. Now, with internet usage exploding, movie downloads are becoming very popular. Let's look at what you might find to watch using a movie download site.

Flubber: Absent-minded professor Phillip Brainard is working on a revolutionary discovery. When he finally succeeds, the world is introduced to and incredible gooey substance called Flubber. When applied to almost anything, the effect is to massively increase the rebounding qualities of the object, seemingly defying gravity.

Flatliners: A group of five medical students start imagining experiencing life after death. One by one, under controlled conditions, they die, and then bring themselves back to life. No one is prepared for the side effects the experience causes them all.

Barnyard: Excited zaniness set on a farm where, after sundown, the animals turn the barn into a loud nightclub. James is Otis, a young cow who is very mature, much to the chagrin of his dad, Ben Elliott, who keeps watch for preying coyotes when the others party. Irrera stands out as Duke the Mutt. Cast includes Courtney Cox, Sam Elliott, Danny Glover, Wanda Sykes, Andie MacDowell, David Koechner, and Laraine Newman. (90 minutes, 2006)

The Replacements: Stupid, run of the mill comedy about a lot of has-beens, eccentrics, and losers who are enlisted by coach Hackman as substitute players in the wake of a pro-football strike. If you seriously desire to see Hackman play a coach, watch the basketball drama Hoosiers. Cast includes Keanu Reeves, Gene Hackman, Brooke Langton, Orlando Jones, Jon Favreau, Jack Warden, Faizon Love, and Brett Cullen. (118 minutes, 2000)

The Wedding Singer: Robbie has just been dumped, right before he was supposed to get married. He resumes his job as a wedding singer, but is miserable and depressed. While singing at weddings he strikes up a friendship with a waitress, who is engaged to a total jerk. Can these two see that they are meant for each other?

The Muse: Brooks plays a Hollywood screenwriter who's informed that he's out of touch until he hooks up with a genuine muse Rock, a capricious lady whose performing methods are unorthodox at best. As with tons of Brooks' films, the parts are better than the entire thing, although his gibes at Hollywood are valuable, and some of the cameo appearances which we come observe are extremely funny. Cast includes Albert Brooks, Sharon Rock, Andie MacDowell, Jeff Bridges, Mark Feuerstein, Steven Wright, and Bradley Whitford. (96 minutes, 1999)

Frontier Marshal: Vibrant retelling of occurrences leading to legendary gunfight at the OK Corral. Scott is perfect as Tombstone's new marshal, Wyatt Earp. Romero is more moody than cold-blooded as Dr. Halliday, and Kelly is the gal from his past who reminds the Dr. of his earlier, saner days as an obstetrician. Cast includes Randolph Scott, Nancy Kelly, Cesar Romero, Binnie Barnes, John Carradine, and Eddie Foy. (71 minutes, 1939)

Hollow Man: Sebastian Caine is working on a top-secret assignment for the U.S. government. He is trying to unlock the keys to human invisibility. After succeeding on laboratory animals, he can't resist, and takes the serum himself. He becomes irreversibly invisible, and feels threatened by those trying to cure him.

The Prime Gig: Successful telemarketer Vaughn is enlisted by Harris for his boiler-room operation and becomes romantically engaged with Ormond. Fascinating inside view of swindlers in action, although Vaughn's ambivalent personality flattens the film's dramatic tightness rather than heightening it. Excellent acting jobs help. U.S. debut on cable Television. Cast includes Vince Vaughn, Julia Ormond, Ed Harris, Rory Cochrane, Wallace Shawn, Stephen Tobolowsky, George Wendt, and Jeannetta Arnette.(97 minutes, 2001)

Try a search phrase something like "Downloading DVDs". Different phrases get different results. If the last one did not work try something else. Try "Music Downloading Services" next.
