Part Time Job And Holiday Job News

Pets At Home, the UK’s biggest pet shop retailer based in Cheshire, is to create 700 new full or part time jobs this year as part of their expansion plans.

25 new outlets have been opened over the last year and more will open in before the end of 2012.

New stores cost around £400,000 to get up and running and can establish 15 new jobs each. The pet company currently employs over 5,000 staff and hopes to open another 200 stores in the future to take their UK empire to over 500 outlets.

A new £5 million distribution facility is set to open soon and will create up to 350 full or part time jobs in Northampton.

Matt Davies, chief executive of Pets At Home, said that even in a tough retail environment they could still make money and create jobs since pets are held in such high esteem in UK households. People tend to make savings in other areas before they would even consider making Rover or Felix do without their little treats.

Both sales and profits at Pets At Home have risen by around 10 per cent over the last 12 months and Mr Davies is upbeat about the future.

“We are more ambitious this year and will open more than 25 new stores as we take advantage of property opportunities that present themselves. We have taken 'second hand' space from retailers that no longer exist and that will continue to be a source of store openings for us over the next couple of years,” explained Mr Davies.

We have a regular supply of full and part time jobs in every nook and cranny of the United Kingdom. Whether you want a retail job in Runcorn or a finance job in Fife, we will try to help you find a full or part time vacancy. Get started today with our Part Time Job Search.
