Airsoft Guns: Making The Right Selection

By Anthony Carter

Buying the right airsoft gun depends largely on what it is going to be used for, whether it is for shooting targets, holding airsoft wars in your backyard, or participating in organized team combats. Below are some tips on which airsoft guns best suit which activities.

Spring pistols are ideal for simple plinking (shooting targets such as pop cans). Not only are they cheap, they're also very low maintenance. Plinking doesn't require a high speed airsoft gun, so you can base your spring pistol purchase upon price and looks alone if you prefer.

If backyard wars and other such friendly battles is the reason why you're buying an airsoft gun, it's recommended you consider a spring shotgun or an automatic electric gun, both of which have higher firing rates than the cheaper pistols. A spring shotgun can be easily purchased for around forty dollars and is ideal for small skirmishes.

Automatic electric guns are very powerful airsoft guns boasting RPMs of authentic rifles. If you think your backyard battles could benefit from faster firing, an AEG will serve all of your sniping needs as well as perform similarly to an assault rifle. The only downfall is the cost of an automatic electric gun in addition to the number of pellets one goes through when using this type of gun.

If you want a high firing rate but it's not in your budget to buy an automatic electric gun, you can always go for the lower end LPEG (low-powered electric gun). This much cheaper airsoft gun still has a high firing rate; however it doesn't have the same feet per second (FPS) rates as AEGs do.

It's going to cost you a lot more money to join an airsoft team than if you are to hold friendly backyard battles. This is because performance relies pretty heavily on the quality of the airsoft gun being used, warranting team players to invest in the best equipment and accessories for their position. Airsoft teams consist of snipers, riflemen, grenadiers, and support shooters, all of which require different equipment. High capacity AEGs are the airsoft gun of choice for those in riflemen positions while those who prefer sniping generally have high precision sniper rifles with an FPS of 400 feet or more plus the optics needed for distance shooting.

A machine gun would be the ideal weapon for a support gunner; however an automatic electric gun with a box magazine addition works similarly and costs much less. The same is true for the grenadier position, though they also require a quality grenade launcher plus lots of grenades. In all circumstances, every position on an airsoft team should also have a gas pistol, which costs about seventy dollars alone.

As you can see, shopping for guns for airsoft use is not as simple a task as one might think. Before heading out to the store, make sure you know exactly what you intend to use the airsoft gun for and what kind of budget you're working with.

iPod Battery guide for your iPod Nano

By James Logan

iPod battery life is an important consideration to most iPod users. The iPod battery weakens over a period of time and it is not easily replaced. This contention has merit, because, although the iPod battery can be recharged hundreds of times, it does lose power over a period of time.

Furthermore, because of the way Apple designed the iPod battery, it is tricky for owners of the iPod Nano 8GB to replace it on their own. This caused some users to wonder if the iPod Nano 8GB was intended as a expendable MP3 player? No. The iPod Nano 8GB was designed to last a good, long, while.

As with all lithium based batteries, the iPod battery can't be expected to last more than two years. This nets the user hundreds of charges; however, at some point, the lithium battery will not work. An iPod battery is not designed for user replacement.

When Apple designed the iPod Nano 8GB, they integrated the battery into the devices circuitry. This created a wide open marketplace for third party manufacturers to offer an iPod battery replacement kit, including step by step instructions on how to remove and change the battery in the iPod Nano 8GB. Apple also offers to replace the iPod battery, but users have to send their iPod Nano 8GB to the company for replacement.

Users can also learn how to maximize the iPod battery power by logging on to the Apple website. Tips to lengthen the life of your iPod battery: Keep your iPod Nano 8GB at room temperature An iPod battery works at its best when the iPod Nano 8GB is at room temperature, between 0 to 35 C (or 32 to 95 F).

Never leave your iPod Nano 8GB inside a car. Don't expose your iPod Nano 8GB to direct sunlight. When unattended, click the Pause. Any time you are not using your iPod Nano 8GB, slide the button into the Hold position.

iPod will continue to play if left playing until the iPod battery drains out. Make it a habit to turn off your iPod Nano 8GB when you're not using it to conserve battery power. When the room is well lit, you do not need back lighting.

This feature uses up much of the reserved battery power. If you don't absolutely need it, turn it off. Select Settings, Back light Timer, Off. Even when you're not using your iPod Nano 8GB, the battery power is slowly depleting.

Even though it is not much, your iPod battery is still being used, even as your iPod Nano 8GB sleeps. By ensuring your iPod is used and stashed away at room temperature, you can significantly limit the amount of battery current being used. By doing this, the battery in your iPod can last as long as 28 days.

Dimage Minolta Product Review!

By Jeff Jones

I have owned a Nikon Coolpix electronic camera for a little over 2 1/2 years and in that duration of time I have taken over 3k photos. As I looked for cameras with longer zooms, there were two I liked the range of- both the Canon Pro1 and the Dimage Minolta. The Dimage Minolta 7X optical zoom provides me a great range between wide angle to telephoto. Due to this wide selection, it's feasible to make many alternative pictures with this great camera.

Another great feature that attracted me to the Dimage Minolta was the anti-shake feature. A camera with a powerful zoom isn't helpful if you cannot hold it steady enough to get a clear photo. Despite the length of the zoom, the Dimage Minolta camera is incredibly condense and simply fits into my fanny pack which is precisely what I wanted.

Another feature that I really like about the Dimage Minolta is the adjustable LCD screen which is much sharper than the one on my Nikon. This allows you to aim over your head or at a low angle and still see what you are aiming at. You can fold the LCD to where it is facing the camera body to protect it and also take photos by employing the EVF viewfinder. Which lets you use less battery power.

The Dimage Minolta LCD will also turn absolutely forward so you can do a self portrait by trying the remote control to trip the shutter. The remote may also be convenient for long exposures on a tripod like low light shots. For dim lighting shots, it's got noise cancellation to where it will take a second picture with the shutter closed to record any "hot spots" from the pixels and subtract them from the final picture so it is clearer and does not have all those white dots on it. I did this and it took great dim lighting photos - in reality the Dimage Minolta took the best dim lighting photographs I have gotten with any camera I have took pictures with.

The time between shots it pretty quick. Faster than my Nikon actually. It has manual or auto focus I used manual with it at infinity for my low light pics since this like many auto focus cameras can have trouble targeting in dim light situations. The macro can be used at either the wide angle or telephoto ends of the zoom. I have not especially attempted that yet. Nor have I attempted the film format which is said to be fantastic. There are 2 resolutions you may use for that.

I thought my tiny Nikon 4mp camera took nice pictures, but the Dimage Minolta blows that away. It is simple enough for a beginner to use it on "Auto" but has enough features to please most professionals too. I already have taken several pictures with this camera. They are very sharp - from the wide angle through telephoto. This camera fit my needs and then some - with all the options usable this camera offers. If you are serious about photography and yet wish to make it simple, the Dimage Minolta is a remarkable camera!

Notice I did not debated the eight mega-pixels the Dimage Minolta has. The cause of that is because it was not a contemplation for my reason to buy and delight for this camera. 4 mega-pixels is a lot for most uses especially since most users won't be making prints bigger than 8 x 10. But this camera definitely gives you that possibility.

I praise this camera! The photo is what the eye sees, and the Dimage Minolta will definitely help you to capture what you see with simplicity. I very highly recommend it!

A Brief Review Of The Sony BDP-S560 Blu-Ray Disc Player

By Chris Channing

Sony has long been in the business of pleasing fans of electronics, and in this case a Blu-ray disc player, but their latest model the BDP-S560 is turning heads. In this review we will investigate what exactly makes the model so appealing and how it stacks up against the competition.

For those who aren't hip on the Blu-ray story, you might be surprised to hear that none other than Sony actually created the new format. As such, they had to create a media player that would the media. It has given the company somewhat of a monopoly over their own self-created market. And as luck would have it, movie distributors have supported the Blu-ray format completely- giving customers a wide selection of media.

Before buying any type of media player, you have to see how compatible it is with your other devices. The Sony BDP-S560, as it turns out, is one of the most compatible devices you will buy for a long time. Not only does it play the Blu-ray discs that it is popular for, it also plays DVD and CD discs flawlessly. And thanks to new video technologies, the media will actually play better on the Blu-ray player.

The interface of the Sony BDP-S560 has been highly praised by critics. While it is essentially a rehash of the PS3 interface, there is certainly nothing wrong with that! The menu can easily be navigated thanks to easy grouping of information. Even the elderly who are not well versed in technology could navigate the BDP-S560.

Surround sound has been around for many years- but still yet media players don't take full advantage of it. The Sony BDP-S560 takes surround sound much further by supporting the latest in Dolby sound. The Dolby TrueHD standard has been implemented, so that anyone with the right speaker setup can be impressed by the sound quality and realism. At some points you may even attest it is better than a theater experience.

Perhaps more exciting for audio visual geeks is the amount of connections allowed by the Sony team. The standard HDMI, S-Video, Ethernet, and optical ports are all supported. Older standards such as the coaxial port is also supported for hooking the player up to other devices and media streams. Customers won't be disappointed with the media supported either, with every type of CD, DVD, and current Blu-ray disc out there currently supported.

Final Thoughts

You really can't go wrong in purchasing the Sony BDP-S560 disc player. It does a lot of work to ensure consumers can do anything they like, whether ordinary or not so common. Look for them in stores to compare and shop.

Jordan Fake Cards vs. Real

By Cyndi Whittel

So I bet you have found a Jordan and you cannot wait to get it graded, right? It's so nice and you got it so cheap you can't even believe it's the real deal! Well, before you go spending your money to purchase this card, take a closer look especially before paying to have it graded.

Many of these same techniques and items to look for are similar to any fake card. Realizing that they are around is the first step to protecting yourself, finding out how to spot them is the next.

A loupe/magnifying glass and this tiny amount of knowledge can go a long way in protecting your dollars. Money spent foolishly is a hard lesson to learn.

Make sure to download & check out the included images which are close ups from several of the key reference points for you to look at.

FYI - Information on the Gretzky and a couple dozen other commonly counterfeited cards can be found at the bottom of the page under "REFERENCES"

On to Michael (MJ).

Of course not everyone has a real Jordan to compare to...but, if you can find yourself another Bulls card from 86/87 the color schemes and the card itself will match up to a real card quite well and give you a great reference. (this is true for an 79/80 OPC Oilers common, 84 Topps Dolphins card or any of the others...)

So how do you spot this?

A. The turn- You will see down on the banner a darker orange than the yellow area that "Premier" is printed in. There are fakes with a darker orange so use other guidelines too.

A. The turn-down on the banner should be a darker orange color than the yellow part that "Premier" is printed in. There are fakes with a darker orange so use other guidelines as well.

2. The red and blue color on the border should have a definite separation. Notice the fake card has a "blurry" effect. Also notice how deep the color is on the real card and how bold the colors are.

3. The "Chicago" on M.J.'s jersey - Notice how blurry 'Chicago' is, it's sometimes noticed on the fakes that the dot over the letter "I" looks touching the name as opposed to the real card where there is a noticeable separation of this dot. It also will appear that the loop in the letter "o" is closed. As if that weren't enough, you can still read on...

It also will appear that the loop in the letter "o" is closed off. As if that weren't enough, read on...

4. The Name plate - Notice the difference in the color blue here. almost a dark blue vs. a baby blue. You'll also notice that the name, team, position all is more "blurry" than a real card. The font is more "bubbly" on the fake than on the real and the corners of the letters aren't near as sharp on the fake. (similar to the "Fleer Crown in #1A)

5. The black borders - You will see This same technique, will work on all but the most sophisticated fakes. If you have a loupe/magnifying glass, take a look at the black printed lines. In printing, ink is laid on a plate and then put onto the stock, it is not "printed with dots" like most consumer printers do it. (dot- matrix bubble- jet). What you will notice under the magnifying glass is that the black line is not a solid black line, but rather a bunch of small black dots put together to make line. If it's not solid, it's a print and therefore, it's a fake. A dead giveaway.

Air Jordans are named after the American basketball legend 'His Heir-ess', Michael Jordan. It was the first in the series to hit the market and take the public sentiment by storm. To say Air Jordans were a run away success is an understatement. You will of course see looking at the way people were prepared to pay steep penalties, ignoring NBA rules, rather than having to play matches without wearing them. Of course that was probably another Nike endorsement when they wore them, but nonetheless. It was the bright ColorWays in red, white and black that initially caused all pf this euphoria about Air Jordans, which was also the reason why the legendary player himself dared to break all those NBA rules. When Air Jordan 1's was introduced again in 2001, it reinstated the sneakers back at Number 1. Given the penchant for innovation, the creators of Nike Air have done it again when the introduced Jordan Air Force 1 Fusion. It was a hybrid shoe made by merging the craftsmanship and vibrancy of Cheap Jordans and basic designs of Air Force 1 on the latter's proven platform. For once, it is easy to tell why the makers of Nike have been trying hard to brand two different sneakers into one. They actually went flying off the shelves. By combining Air Jordans and Air Force 1, Nike has hit two birds with one stone. Air Force 1 Fusion is a definite boom for those who were caught with having to either choose from Air Jordans or Air Force Ones. It might even interest you to know why Nike Air was so popular since a few decades back. It is the same reason that drives Nike which is playing behind Air Force 1 Fusion and Air Jordans fusions. No one needs told how great an impact the color of the shoes can also have on their decision making when purchasing air jordans. In 2010, they will be coming out with a purple, lime green pink orange or "Roy G Biv" style Jordans. This is to quench the desire of a few of the players who have come to love rainbow colors.
