Independence Day - 4th July Party Ideas

By D Jackson

Independence Day falls on the 4th July and is a time to celebrate our independence from the dastardly British. Why not celebrate this year with a party to impress your friends, family and neighbours? Have a look at my 4th July party ideas:

1. We start with the invitations. Why not send out your invites on small American flags, either in the post or hand delivered! They will love you for your patriotic and well thought out idea!

2. State loud and clear on your invitations that if anybody turns up not wearing red, white and blue they will be charged on the door!

3. If your local park have pavillions, consider hiring one out as they make superb venues for parties.

4. Get some face paints so the kids can paint American flags on each others faces.

5. Line the walkway to your property, or pavillion with small American flags.

6. Every American should have a large flag. Make sure it's in a prominent position.

7. Get some squirt guns and fill them with blue or red water. Have two teams and have a fun game.

8. For later, make sure you have patriotic red, white and blue fireworks.

9. Of course the food should be all American. Start off with watermellon. You should have a seed spitting contest, aiming for targets or see who can spit the furthest.

10. No matter where your party venue is, you really should have a BBQ. Make sure you have all the usual American trimmings; sausages, burgers and chicken etc.

11. Bake a cake and use strawberries and and blueberries for the stars and stripes.

12. Gelatin deserts are easy to make and come in red and blue. Also, of course apple pie!

13. Cause a stir at your 4th July party by turning up as a British redcoat. Consider hiring out a Captain America outfit or buying a founding Father costume!
