By Karen Letts

Wedding castles make for memorable weddings as you are going from your everyday life to a place of magic and fairy tales. Most castles are steeped in history and make a fantastic setting for a wedding. There are many castles scattered throughout Europe and currently many individuals are choosing French Chateaux's for their wedding.

Chateau de Montvillargenne is situated ideally near Paris. It has easy access from the international airport in Paris and also offers accommodation as well as wedding facilities. For smaller weddings the Chateau des Briottieres is in the Loire Valley. This castle has 10 rooms that can be used as accommodation and the surrounding parklands make for picturesque scenery.

For those interested in the best food that can be offered then a wedding at the Chateau Les Crayeres is the perfect choice. This castle is renowned for its food and the restaurant at the castle in combination with the beautiful rooms makes for a fantastic choice.

France also has exceptional cuisine and the Chateau Les Crayeres is known for its restaurant and food. For the best in food and excellent accommodation then this is a great option. For those that love the beauty of the French countryside, particularly Provencal then Chateau de Montcaud is a great option. This Chateau is in Avignon and is situated in the countryside near the Cevennes Mountains. For those wanting the glamour of the French Riviera then the Chateau Montcaus offers all you would want as it is very close to the Mediterranean.

Scotland also has many castles that have very dramatic histories. You can have many other functions at castles besides weddings including dining, conferences and other meetings. A little spot of heaven is at Amhuinnsuidhe castle in Western Scotland. This castle is on the Isle of Harris. The most northern most castle in the world is Balfour castle and offers a dramatic coast with the North Sea and Atlantic Ocean meeting just in front of the castle.
