Clemson Chokes in Home Regional

Clemson's season ended tonight with a 14-1 loss to UConn. Kevin Pohle got the start, as I had hoped he would if Meyer couldnt go, and he got shelled. UConn jumped on him early and none of our relievers could keep the door closed on them tonight. In reality though, the regional appeared to be lost when we allowed them to come back from a 4-1 deficit last night with a walkoff RBI single. Despite a strong finish to the season, Clemson lost their first home regional since 1998.
We did play well in the first two games but you wouldn't know it since Clemson decided to not show the games on TigerCast. We were told that Turner Broadcasting owns the rights to the games and that Clemson opted not to pay their fee to show the games online, and since no national network picked up our series, we were not on TV all weekend.
But only one other series had no webcast or TV. Clemson would've had to pay $3000 to put the games on TigerCast when we have one of the better baseball fanbases nationally. We've been Top 10 in attendance for several years now, so why wouldn't you put the games on TV or at least on TigerCast?
Or what, our AD couldn't afford it? That would be a lie. We know you're sitting on a total of $34 million in IPTAY funds, yet you want to ask us for more money to start the various projects coming up that the BOT finally pushed you into doing.  Baseball bleeds money at Clemson but if you don't get the PRODUCT out there, then you have no way to ever ADVANCE the product. You have to get the games out there to ever make money on them you morons. And if you don't cater to your fans at all and don't care what we think, as seems to be the prevailing thought in TDP's athletic department, then you're making a pretty stupid business (and career) decision for the future.

Combine that with the TI interview with Sleepy Don Phillips, where we heard shit we already knew and no solutions to any problems, and you'll realize that our AD rolls their turds into little balls and eats crayons for lunch.
But anyway...
The Tigers had no trouble whatsoever against Sacred Heart with an 11-1 victory. Clemson scored four runs in the first inning, one run in the second inning, and six runs in the third inning to break the game open. Sacred Heart's lone run in the sixth inning was the only scoring during the final six innings.
Scott Firth got the call on the start with Meyer out for the weekend and went 6, giving up 6 hits, the lone run, while striking out 5 with 1 walk. Kevin Pohle and Jon Surber finished them off over the last 3 innings.
 Hinson led the Tigers' 12-hit attack by going 3-for-3 with a homer, double, three RBIs, three runs, a walk, and steal. Pohl went 3-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI, while Epps was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a walk.
Coastal Carolina gave us a bit more of a fight while Leone battled with control and command. He didnt fool anyone and gave up 7 hits in 4.1 IP and 2 walks. He has kinda struggled over the last few starts with the command of his pitches.
After both teams scored two runs in the first inning, the Tigers scored two unearned runs in the second inning and never relinquished the lead. Clemson led by scores of 6-4 after three innings and 7-5 after five innings. Clemson then scored a run in the seventh inning and four more runs in the eighth inning to build a comfortable lead.
David Haselden came in to follow him and went the next 4 innings before running out of gas in the 9th and giving up 2 meaningless late runs.
Pohl, Lamb, and Shaffer had three hits apiece to lead the Tigers' 14-hit attack. Shaffer went 3-for-4 with a homer, double, and four RBIs. Lamb was 3-for-4 with a homer, triple, two RBIs, three runs, and a walk, while Pohl was 3-for-5 with a double and two runs. Hinson added two hits, including a homer, two RBIs, three runs, and a walk. Epps scored two runs, but his 10-game hitting streak came to an end.
Clemson appeared to be in cruise control against UConn on Sunday night, sitting on a 4-1 lead, until a 2-run jack from Doug Elliot cut the lead to a run. Clemson couldn't put much on their stellar pitching staff after that to widen the gap, and UConn made it 6-4 after the 8th inning finished.
In the 9th, the Tigers fought back against ace closer Kevin Vance (with a 0.98 ERA) to tie the game at 6-6 on a Spencer Kieboom 2-RBI single. UConn got the lead batter on in the bottom half of the inning and a 2-out single scored the runner from 2nd.
Lamb went 3-for-5 with a run to lead the Tigers, who totaled 12 hits. However, the Tigers stranded 13 runners on base, including seven in scoring position, and only scored six of their 21 baserunners.
